KENSINGTON MARKET HIDDEN HISTORIES

The Challenge: Students in Digital Tools in a Canadian Context, coordinated by the professor Siobhan researched into 32 physical sites in the market, buildings and lots, looking for archival traces of past residents and business over the past 200+ years.

The Solution: As they worked with digital and archival research tools, coding and quantitative analysis the solution found was to archive in a unique AR app for mobile produced by Paulo Ramos, developer, Camille Gautier, arts and UI and Emily Smith executive producer.

The Results:  The U of T students received the Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Youth Achievement from the Ontario Heritage trust 2017. I’m also proud to be the official maintainer of the app for life.
